What Does An Excavation Contractor Do?

An excavation contractor does not just haul dirt.
An excavation contractor will prepare your site for a new home or building to be built by a building contractor. An excavation contractor will also prepare your site for a driveway. Excavation is used in construction to create reservoirs and roads. Site preparation can involve demolition or wrecking of buildings or structures. Site preparation can include blasting, leveling out the land by moving dirt, hauling dirt, test drilling, landfill, levelling, excavating, making sure the land has the proper drainage. Excavation companies do operate some very large pieces of heavy equipment.

Some equipment used by an excavator contractor include:
A grader is a heavy construction piece used to smooth and flatten a surface for roads or building foundations.
A crawler loader is a cross between an excavator and a backhoe or bucket loader. The tracks on this piece of equipment give it stability and its versatile bucket make it useful for moving soil and debris and for loading material onto trucks.
Dump trucks, backhoes, front loader, trenchers, cranes, loaders, bull dozers and backhoes are all used as earth moving equipment.
